Tea Bag & Memory Folds 101-A with Cathleen Smith: Saturday, April 2, 10:00 AM - Noon. You've met Cathleen as she clerks at The Stamp Addict but now meet the teacher part of her. In this class, a variation of Origami (the art of paper folding), you'll be doing 2 tea bag folds & 2 memory folds. The possibilities are endless (even if you're one of the folks that thought tea bag folding was based on Earl Grey for breakfast!) vellum! Mike has designed a whole new collection of cards using your favorite transparent paper. You'll apply
the techniques of invisible attachment & embossing without wrinkles to 5 all new cards. See a sample here! Cost $18.00* >>> The Art Lounge (Wild, Wild Emersons) With Rena Tucker: Wednesday, April 20, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Silly & Sassy - no, not the teacher -- well -- the images! Images she has not used before with lots of layering & sparkles to "tart" them up! The general theme is: "Stories We Tell Ourselves & Others" (over something cold & bubbly?) PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MEDIA (COLORED PENCILS, H2O's, etc.) IF YOU HAVE THEM. See a sample here! Cost $18.00* KELLY KILMER: THE ART OF THE ALTERED PHOTOGRAPH: Saturday, April 23, 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Kelly is returning, again to spend the entire Saturday with us! She took a class with Karen Michel, & was inspired to go home & explore the wonderful world of altering photographs & images! (This is NOT Karen's class! but she is recommended by Kelly as is Randi Watts) In this class of Kelly's you'll learn a variety of mixed media explorations, tips, tricks & techniques using real 35mm photos & collage images via Kelly's methods! Learn how to paint, stamp, collage & use a plethora of mixed media supplies on the photos. You'll also incorporate photos into a special, cool art project creating a small canvas book to house your pix! This is unlike any altered photo class you've ever taken (& Kelly encourages you to take a variety of them!) If you want REAL 35mm photos in journals & art or if you want to "art up" others, this is your class! Additional techniques to be learned are working on color copies, photo painting, & repeating images. REQUIRED ITEMS TO BRING 20 ** REAL ** 35mm PHOTOGRAPHS THAT YOU CAN ALTER, SOME COLOR COPIED PHOTOGRAPHS, INCLUDING SOME MULTIPLE COPIES AN IMAGE. (*Digital camera users, please make sure your photos are done on photo, not computer paper) As always: PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SCISSORS, BONE FOLDER, CORK BACKED METAL RULER, SMALL COLLECTION OF COLLAGE EPHEMERA & MARVY MARKERS IF YOU HAVE THEM.
