In this class, which are always SO popular, you'll create easy embellishments for your cards. As most of you know, Kathy just loves to embellish (anything that's not nailed down!) Some of the embellishments for this class will be pre-made, some not. Come & join her in making different embellishments to enhance your art work. You will use wire, buttons, tags, beads, fibers, & more (& then, probably, even more!). Cost $20.00 * Flowers & Fun with Ginny: Sunday, September 10, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. This class was so popular that doing it once again seemed the logical step for those that missed the first go 'round. Flowers are still available for your viewing pleasure in the summer! Cost $20.00 * Text as Art with Kelly Kilmer: Saturday, September 16, 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM. This is not a calligraphy class! It's a class for any that despise or don't like your handwriting; as well as for those that do! You'll learn Kelly's secrets of "faux" calligraphy - tricks, tips & techniques to make use of any kind of handwritten, stamped, cut outs, found words, text look FABULOUS. Learn mixed media techniques incorporating "text" of all kinds on the page. Find your inner graffiti artist & let that talent shine on your pages. You'll learn a variety of new & unusual techniques while creating a funky, simple, cool-looking book to "house" the various techniques that you'll learn in class. When leaving, you'll take a fully painted, all hand bound book all ready for you to use!!! All materials will be provided (including an array of mixed media supplies, acrylics & mediums, a variety of stamps, collage ephemera, & all supplies necessary to complete the project). Since The Stamp Addict gets so many requests for this, we've put together a fun little evening of the ins & outs of stamping. A sort of "Stamping 101" if you will. We'll touch on different types of inks, what embossing does (& doesn't do), papers, mistakes & how to fake them into the work. If you were to shy to ask or to afraid to admit that you didn't know, this is the class to take. THE ART LOUNGE yes! Cost $20.00 * Birthdays! With Kathy: Saturday, September 23, 10:00 AM - Noon. Birthdays! They come all of the time & usually you remember them about 15 minutes after you needed the card! Come & make some fun & different birthday cards, under Kathy's tutoring. From birthday cake to birthday words, they will all be used to make the day a brighter one for the birthday person. Join in wishing these special cards off to a special someone you know. See A Sample Here! Cost $20.00 * Washi Paper Quilting with Cathleen Smith: Saturday, September 23, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. This is another of those you asked for it again & The Stamp Addict is glad to provide! Washi Paper Quilting is based on a traditional Japanese doll making technique called Kime-Komi. Fabric is used for dolls however we will be using beautiful Washi papers to make cards. Cathleen's theme for this class centers on Fall & Christmas cards & will use lots of beautiful Washi papers. This "quilting" technique creates simple yet extremely elegant cards. Please Bring Your Own Scissors & Bone Folder. See Samples Here! Cost $27.00 ($20.00 + $7.00 for special supplies)* Ornament in a Bucket with Diane Chen & Ginny: Sunday, September 24, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. This is a pair to draw to! (that could refer to both the subject & the teachers!) Diane as you all know is the fantastic teacher for dominos & the beautiful ornaments using Primary Elements from LuminArte. She has perfected the ornaments & is willing to share her expertise on those, as she gears up for the gift giving season. Ginny is really into the "buckets" from Stampendous & is getting hers all ready for the season as well. Together, they all team up for the making of 2 beautiful glass ornaments & a bucket for you to decorate as the "wrapping" as you give this great gift for the season. Join in this Saturday class to make gorgeous coils that make Midas green with envy! Your coils can be used to embellish your stamped art cards or to enhance or make jewelry. Be sure not to miss this shimmering, 14 karat class! syndee will provide the clays but PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PASTA MACHINE & CLAY BLADES. See A Sample Here!
